This place. Such a favorite. We revisited weeks ago on a spring break excursion. It's a hillside by the coast, planted with rows and rows of ranunculus. When I was very small we called it "rainbow hill" after the way the strands of petaled color seamlessly met the sky. There were fewer buildings then. Still when you're in the midst of it, with the dust of the road, the bright of noon, and a blue ribbon of sea in the distance, you find yourself quelling the impulse to run down the steeply plowed furrows and gather the largest bunch of ruffled blooms you've ever seen.

WoW - what a glorious place!! LindaSonia
These are absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe this place really exists, thanks for sharing!
Oh my, this is what dreams are made of. These somewhat remind me of when Dorthy runs through the poppy field on her way to the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz (my favorite childhood movie). Thank you for sharing, hopefully my dreams will be filled with these lovely images tonight.
It is so beautiful!

Beautiful! Your pictures give it such a fantasy land atmosphere... it immediately reminded me of Wizard of Oz, where she lies down in all the poppies....
Oh so gorgeous! I could drift in that field for days...

Oh man, this is a surreal landscape for sure! It makes me think about my recent trip to Leu Gardens here in Orlando, FL - so many roses in bloom. I kinda forget that it's spring sometimes!

How did you alter the colours to look so fantastic? All of your photos have this beautiful, serene, antiquey colouring. How do you do it?
Thanks for commenting on my blog :)
I've never seen a whole field of ranunculus - my favorite flower. I haven't even planted them before. But this year my husband planted seeds. They took forever to germinate, and now they are just little beads of green leaves. I hope they will grow into real flowers.
My daughter is using them in her bridal bouquet this summer - though we may have to rely on them from a florist.
Lovely blog, found through Blog of Note.
I think I've found my fairytale in reality. What a beautiful place with glorious flowers!
